A project given to me by my college to redesign on of Winsor and Newton’s Ink packaging. We had to choose a colour out of a pot and I picked Crimson. Originally I associated Crimson with women and created some tissue paper flowers to photograph but felt it could relate more to the origin of the colour itself so I did a lot of research into the colour Crimson. I found out that It was made using crushed, dried bugs bodies, the bugs lived on cacti and were used to colour products. I decided to create patterns using different types of paper cut into bugs, cacti and squares.
I was happy with the outcome as I enjoyed working by hand and researching the origins of my colour.
